Water-Proof Eye Makeup

Ok I know a few weeks ago I promised to make a post each Thursday but I have been unable to these past two weeks. Alot of personal things were going on and I needed to be with my family and help them grieve. If any of you are on my facebook or know me or my family know exactly what I am talking about. Due to all this I haven't really been able to do much for the Halloween season but I promise to make up for that with posts about DIY Christmas decor and gifts ideas after Thanksgiving or before. But for now I'm going to pick up with a post I meant to post after I got back from my beach vacation.

*Disclaimer* - I did not purchase any of the Benefit products. I received these as a gift for the Ipsy and Benefit Lash Bash. All opinions are 100% my own. I would like to thank Ipsy and Benefit for giving me the opportunity to try out these products and share my opinion.

Face Makeup for the Beach

I just got back from a 4 day trip to the beach and I thought I'd share how I wore my makeup while I was there. All this was pool and sea safe. This is Part 1, my face routine for when I wanted a natural look that would protect me from getting burned and was water proof. Part 2 will be the eyeshadow tutorial and part 3 will be what all I packed.

FALLing In Wonderland Wishlist

I'm not sure if anyone noticed but I've started tagging all my fall posts in FALLingInWonderland. I'm going to make one post a week on Thursdays. I can't guarantee what they will be about but I will make a weekly post.
This week I thought it would be fun to make a post of all the wishlist items I have for Fall.
What are your fall wishlist items? I'd love to hear about them!

Eve Lom Cleansing Balm: I have been obsessed with cleansing balms lately. I have been dying to try this one out, it scares me it has mineral oil in it but I've heard it is a complete miracle in a jar.

Dior Creme de Rose lip balm: This is an item I have been wanting to get for about a year now.

SKII Facial Treatment Essence: I've heard wonderful things about this stuff and I want to see if it is worth the hype.

Fresh Cosmetics Sugar Lip Balms: This has been a much loved item by many bloggers and I have a mini obsession with lip products and I really love them if they add a bit of color to my lips. I'm really loving the sets that are starting to come out with the holiday seasons!

Bath and Body Works Candles: I am obsessed with their candles! They make your whole house smell amazing. I've gotten candles elsewhere, even high end ones that smell amazing in the container but when you burn it you can't smell anything unless you are leaning in to blow it out.

Tiffany & Co Bracelets: There are a few I am absolutely in love with. I may do a separate blog on jewelry I'm lusting after as I'm in love with bracelets and watches.

Boots and Booties and Oxfords: I love boots and I've just about worn the soles off my black boots. I'm really wanting a pair of cowgirl boots and some basic black boots but with buckle details or stud details and such. I am really wanting a cute pair of booties or oxfords in oxblood.

Highlights: I've been wanting to go blondish for years and my husband finally gave the ok. I wont do my whole head one solid color but I'd like something that is definitely lighter but has definition. But first I have to get this red out of my hair. I'm naturally a cool toned dirty/dark blonde and I was very blonde as a child but it turned into a very light brown as I got older. Anyone have any tips on how to get rid of red hair without destroying your hair in the process?

BaubleBar Bracelets in Silver and Rose Gold: I think these are gorgeous and perfect for layering arm candy. I am loving layer bracelets and bangles with watches here lately. I have a few other goodies from Baublebar that I'm in love with.

Micheal Kors Baguette-Bezel Watch in Rose Gold:  I've had my eye on it for about a year and I will eventually get it. I think this is just a beautiful watch and I don't like yellow gold at all on me because I have cool toned skin but I think rose gold looks really good.

That completes my current wishlist for fall. I would love to know what's on yours!
Leave me a comment below with the items you've been eyeing or saving up for.

Have a wonderful day!

Accutane Update (Month 2)

I just finished up Month 2 of Accutane. In the beginning of month 2 I took a mini vacation for 1 week due to waiting on a few test results to make sure I could continue taking it. I had seen an improvement, not a whole whole lot but enough to make a difference. My favorite part being my makeup stayed on! I wasn't reapplying 3-4 times a day. First I will go over all the side effects I've been experiencing the past month and then I will get on to what all of you are probably wondering about, the improvement of my acne.

Month 1 Adventure:
I want to include the first month so if any of you have this problem you don't do like I did and run to the store in a panic and spend an hour looking at face stuff and terrified to try anything but desperately needing something.
At about the end of week two I noticed my face was much redder, I expected THAT. But after a few days I noticed I had these red patches on my face, the best way to describe it was if your a Game of Thrones fan I looked like I was beginning to turn into the girl in Season 3 that looks like a dragon. Right in the center of my forehead mainly and in a few other areas and a few on my arms, my forehead being the worst. I honestly thought it was just a very dry patch of skin. Then it started to get kinda "scaly" after about 2 days. On day 3 or 4 I hit the panic button when I realized I was starting to morph into a dragon! Cool as it may be to dream of being the Mother Of Dragons I don't want to be one! It was pretty scary. I ran to the store and picked up some Aveeno Eczema Therapy and applied that to my face multiple times a day and saw a HUGE improvement. I slathered that baby on like it was my lifeline! While I was at the store I also got the generic Baby Oil with Vitamin E (unscented) for after I get out of the shower and BioOil to help with scarring as I noticed spots stay much longer than they used too. I do not have a bathtub just a walk-in shower but I've been told the Aveeno Eczema Therapy bath soak is a miracle worker.

Now on to Month 2:

My lips. Goodness. I seriously have a whole makeup bag in my purse dedicated to JUST lip balms. I still try to get away with wearing lip sticks. But its been a bit of trial and error.

Face and Hair Stuff:
I also am in love with Makeup Forever's Green face primer. This evened out a ton of redness in my skin and I'm out and dying to get more!
I have also been using hydrating face masks. One is from Beauty Society called Baby Calm Down and it reduces redness and helps your skin heal faster. The others have been sheet masks which I have fallen in love with. I got all mine from and I will do a haul/review post on the items I got there as I've used them all and none of them reacted crazy to my skin so thats a huge bonus.
I also had some issues with my scalp in the beginning but that is much better. It still gets dry but thats nothing compared to what it was. I do deep condition my hair regularly. But I have always done that but I do use more hair oils on my ends to keep them from getting so dry.

Joints and Vitamins:
I have also been taking Calcium and Vitamin C. I tried something called Joint Juice because I am physically active as I run and occasionally do Zumba and I don't want to break something because of the impact this will have on my bones. But that just did not taste good! Speaking of joints I have noticed that my knees bother me a whole lot more. My feet have been very bothersome the past 2-3 weeks. I have a normal arch to my foot and they don't usually bother me unless I wear the wrong size shoes or something but here lately even my comfy shoes are not so comfy anymore. =(

Skin Reactions:
I get these red patches, mainly on my forearms and on my upper arms that are slightly itchy and occasionally my hands will itch. The past week though I've noticed much more itchiness at random times, specifically on my hands and arms. And I noticed this past week I have what appears to be a rash starting on my inner forearms. I have been putting a ton of the Aveeno cream on it to help but as it just started I'm not sure if its helping or not. I did mention this to the doctor and he gave me a steroid cream to help.

My results:
I have not had a cyst in about 2 weeks which is HUGE for me! I have had constant cystic breakouts since I was young. A week never passed when I didn't have at least 3 or more pop up. Each morning I'm so happy when I don't see a new cyst or a new cluster of cysts. I haven't even had to use concealer in the past week!! I do still use foundation and powder and under eye concealer but no blemish concealer!  I will be doing a post soon on my morning routine and shortly after my evening routine.

I had my doctors appointment this week and I was thrilled when my doctor came to me with a trainee and used me as an example of someone who reacts very well to treatment. That was the highlight of my whole visit.

I hope you enjoyed this update and if any of you are currently or have taken accutane or will be starting soon, I hope this was informative and helpful.
